shouldn't we be hearing something from KK, CMA, NSE right about now! the 6 weeks should almost be up.

To fellow KK passengers, do you know of another bus that is as well driven and travelling to a similar destiny as (our beloved)KEKE.

Someone I know on Wazua has already mentioned AccessKenya is up for grabs.. quoting the owners buying as a tip to it..... though at some point the management had mentioned that they were looking forward to inviting/selling to a strategic investor once the price improves.....

KK did say the Due Diligence will take 6-8 weeks.

If I was Puma, I would take the max time allowed to make sure all looked OK. Heck, I would even ask for an extension!

KK has to remain 'silent' during this period though it should make little difference even if they announced information since the shares have been suspended from trading.

No am getting enough sleep, I am sure KK is home and dry... just looking at my figures makes me happy even if they decide to offer a squeeze out at 17

In less than two months Hubris holdings have got all necessary CMA approvals and exemption from making a takeover offer in their bid to acquire control by increasing their the 50% stake in Pan african insurance,a process under the same regulations Puma may have to go through.

There are differences.
1) Hubris was already a 50% owner of PAI for years thus it need not have done 'new' Due Diligence. Puma knows little about the internal workings of KK.
2) It is not a Takeover as defined by CMA rules. They will only acquire (I think) upto 66% whereas Puma may be looking at 100%.

@vvs,i agree no due diligence on part of Hubris was necessary,it is the process from intent to acquire a controlling stake to getting the approval by CMA and other bodies as required that i found surprisingly fast.By the very intent of increasing their stake from 50% they had to apply for exemptions under the Takeover regulations.
Interestingly they may have to bid directly from the market for the 10% more they desire.

I have a strong hunch that Hubris has been working on this deal for a while including preliminary discussions with the CMA & IRA thus a lot of the groundwork was already done.

No need to get impatient though earlier the better! I am resigned to September at the earliest

3 more weeks (why should Puma rush it? Better to kick the tyres for 2 more weeks) until some sort of announcement.
2 weeks to prepare documents, send a notice to Shareholders
3 weeks waiting for the Notice Period for the EGM. In the meantime, consultations with CMA & brokers on how to accomplish the Takeover.
4 weeks by CMA to approve the Takeover + hassles with MoE & Treasury.
6 weeks to dispatch Takeover docs & the process.
4 weeks to tally, announce then pay the Shareholders

22 weeks from 15 June 2012 = 30th Nov 2012

No need stressing over the dates.
We'll know more after the 6-8 weeks elapse.
