Just wondering, if Kisumu flight is 45 minutes, how long would the Nakuru one be? 20 minutes? Before you settle in your seat, you are already landing? And how much would the fare be?
Think of all the flowers and fresh vegetables bound for Europe from Naivasha/Nyahururu and the trucks that jam M-road in the morning and evening. Apart from Passengers what else is exported from Kisumu? fis and more fis

Eldoret as it is still struggling to maintain its cargo capacity.Infact one airline withdrew recently due to lack of sufficient cargo. Its just a loss for the airline if there's no biz so if we don't consider some factors we shall end up with cows grazing on airports instead. Besides, the Kenya market is mostly a cargo one outbound ie not pax. Perishables is seasonal. Nway,I think they should construct one in meru(khat) Nakuru/Naivasha>> Perishables only. Lodwar/Isiolo>> NGO's Eldoret airport>> Mombasa>> Tourists Kisumu>> Hyacinth and Omena I think the whole Kenya is represented. Whatever. The Isiolo airport will cater for Khat shipped straight to Mogadishu and Addis.. "There are only two emotions in the market, hope & fear. .....we have close to 5 freighters out of JKIA everyday.I think for the long term, this project is viable.

Trust some people to drag backward ethnic politics into everything. Then when violence breaks out you want to appear as angels and blame it on the politicians! Shame!

omena and hyacinth. You can't resist the urge to put down the people of Nyanza/western. The business of airports is to receive/despatch pasengers (people), ever heard of JKIA, OT, Heathrow, etc, what do you think their core business is, its passengers not cargo. You are reading too much into this....the other day we saw RAO's sister asking the govt to put up a cargo terminal at the Kisumu Int. Airport...to me that's a waste... Apart from Passengers what else is exported from Kisumu? @Murchr, Simple question, viability. Considering time and cost? Your answer regarding exports was good enough.Me thinks issue was more of passager numbers than cargo. Obi ! Kanobi refers.Comparison with Kisumu was an issue of time taken only and nothing to do with regions. Sorry, but you line of thinking is . . . . .
