So!

The queen of England celebrates her 60 years on the throne. What a rich squatter she is. The crown is not hers.

The murder of Archbishop Thomas A. Becket by loyal knights of the king during the reign of Henry III, set forth a series of events that had far reaching consequences for England that also culminated in the transferrence of the crown from the London to Rome. These events included the Compromise of Avranches in 1172, the religious boycott in 1208-14 and King Johns letter of concession in 1213 binding his successors and heirs under a charter. He rented the crown from the new owner that the queen now sports.

2 years later he broke the charter by signing the Magna Carta. Hence Rome claimed its crown and from that time to now, the Crown does not belongs to the British but to Rome.

So much for the empire!

three things @ Yesu

one, the very modern british throne strength and power as of this millenium is not tagged to the events of more than eight centuries ago...the monarchy structure has not changed...probably the best so far.

two...i am very sure that Rome at the time had absolutely no use or need for the crown...and that crown means nothing to the modern day english society...

three...the crown was just an insignia or a symbol of authority in England at the time...not anymore today...this has been replaced by other forms...

...the age of empires died along time ago and will never rise again just as long as everyone is singing the democracy and human rights songs...

wachana na Beth ajienjoy!!!

...besides, the presence of a safe alone does not signify that there is money inside...

Kaigangio, I will not let her rest, not yet. smile

Various legislation are still in force including the most recent one, The Act of Settlement (1701) that lays down that only Protestant heirs of Princess Sophia, granddaughter of James I, may succeed to the British throne.

The crown (the regal power, not necessarily that metal that sits on her head in portraits) means all to the Church of England, whose head is the reigning monarch now Elizabeth.

Doing away with the crown means doing away with the Church of England, founded by Henry VIII in 1534. There has since been updating of the relations between the Church of England and Rome. The Church of England has been absorbed hence there is no more need for Elizabeth and her lineage to maintain something they should not have in the first place, since 1215!

By the way, isnt it strange that these old agreements despite being extremely obnoxious through and through by current standards are still binding today?
