Japan has given GOK money to dualize Ngong Road. In terms of priority should Ngong Road be dualize before Outering Road.

OR does anyone know when this vital road with perenial jams and serving the multitudes in Eastlands will dualized.

Who will help the Eastlanders with their MPs Waititu + Sonko appearing clueless.

I thought the Outering Road was already earmarked for expansion...

This is one of those cases where *both* need to be done together.

Tuvok

You can see why I am raising the issue. Almost 1 year down the line after that story, we are getting news about Ngong road an nothing about Outering.

The so called diaspora like commenting and lecturing "those who stayed" even when it's obvious they are totally clueless!

Get it?

Kenyans abroad.

I hear they are making some ridiculous about the election and have insisted IEBC should station polling centres within walking distance from their homes.

Construction of Outering Road was meant to start in June 2012.

On Kenyans in the diaspora, there is a misconception. No one has requested IEBC to station polling stations within walking distances. Some of these countries are so huge(like USA),its totally impossible for someone who lives in Boston to go to Kenyan embassy in washington DC to vote. Its unrealistic. They are just asking for several polling stations closer to where they live. But then the cost factors props up.It would be too expensive to have polling stations in every state. My view is a mixture of both.maybe they should add a few polling stations. But then the question of how many kenyans abroad will actually show up to vote.I have asked around and I was surprised to find out that most of them are not interested in voting. In that case, then I guess, then voting should be done at the embassies.

I was able to get the info. Here we are verbatim in Parliament. Nov 2011

TRAFFIC CONGESTION ON OUTER RING ROAD
Mr. Mbuvi: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I beg to ask the Minister for Roads the following
Question by Private Notice.
8 Wednesday, 23rd November, 2011(P)
(a) Is the Minister aware of the frequent traffic snarl-ups on Outer Ring Road,
especially at the Donholm and Kariobangi roundabouts, and what immediate and longterm
measures will the Government take to remedy the problem?
(b) What is the extent of losses, both in man hours and economically,
resulting from the delays?
The Minister for Roads (Mr. Bett): Mr. Speaker, Sir, I beg to reply.
(a) I am aware of the frequent snarl-ups on Outering Road and especially at
Donholm and Kariobangi roundabouts. To address the problem, my Ministry through the
Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) has procured a consultant to undertake the
designs for expansion of Outer Ring Road, including improvement of the junctions into
interchanges. The designs are expected to be completed by March, 2012.
Mr. Mbuvi: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I am coming to my Question. Since the Minister
has admitted that they have engaged a consultant to design this busy Outering Road,
could he give an undertaking to this House on when the expansion of this is going to
commence?
Mr. Bett: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I want to thank the hon. Member for the compliments
that he has given to my Ministry and my officers. The consultant is due to conclude his
work on March, 2012. Soon after that, we are already engaging in discussions with a
possible financier, that is, the African Development Bank (ADB), and they have already
indicated that they are willing to put aside Kshs3 billion for the expansion of that road
into a dual carriageway.
I want to indicate that it will be a dual carriageway to all the
places the hon. Member has listed.
