@Lucid...ditto!! a pedestrian casually walks, you try to step on the breaks but he/she hasn't crossed...and the next thing ni matusi, with the famous line, "hawa madereva wanatudharau!!". But is is prudent for drivers to slow down when approaching crossing points...

Very sad for both families. My heart feels for both.

@YoungMulla... I take it that you have ever driven or had an accident. Your statement is exceedingly reckless... It was an accident not a pre planned event. I do not think any driver gets behind he wheel with intent to kill.. The driver is also very affected by the event. We are all human and make mistakes. Unfortunately they have consequences. It may be very difficult to prove that the driver was reckless or even careless or even speeding.... Watch what you utter my friend. Many things, when viewed from the eye of the law, are not as they appear when viewed by emotion.

Apparently it was Mr.Mwau himself behind the wheel...
"the MP was driving himself from the town centre before hitting the middle-aged man"

"and neither did the police find the phone he was said to have been using just before the accident occurred."

"Efforts by the Nation to trace the private car that the MP was driving at the time of accident were fruitless since inspection officers at the Nairobi Area traffic branch said they had released the vehicle after completing inspection."

@bwenyenye, what i meant is that cars dont kill people, they are driven and so the person driving is the one responsible for the vehicle.I did not mean to asert that the driver planned to knock down the pedestrain.I do drive and i have been in an accident.

This is so Ironic One guy dies accidentally without even having a say. While the other who did not value life takes his own....

Depression or stress might have something to do with these two deaths...thats why religion is so important...being close with your God makes some of this burdens bearable.

condolences to the two families.

Kiss 100 is reporting that eyewitness statements indicate the driver was Harun Mwau. Police arrived at the scene, allowed the MP to leave and then reported that his driver was the one behind the wheel. Mambo hapa...

Condolences to Githae and family.

May the family of Githae find solace at these time.

Suicide among young people is on the increase lately,i wonder what goes through their minds to commit suicide.
People undergo stress everyday and they never think of giving up.
I think its time in our curriculum the students should be taught to withstand pressures of life.
