Funny that Collymore cites "misuse". It's an unlimited data bundle! What did he expect? People to limit themselves to 10mb per day for 200? GOD BLESS YOUR LIFE

What is the excitement about 3500pts on the NSE (was expected from a Technical perspective if the bounce happened - it has). The macro economics picture is still lacklustre to say the least. The money market still looks tight to support 5% GDP growth target especially with high oil prices. This is why I have been dismissing the rain effect. $15/barrel oil... The commodities lehman moment arrives as well as Sovereign debt volcano!

It must be over 80% i donot believe safcom stopped the 'unlimited ' Internet because of porn and other dirty stuff. i am thinking it was justnot profitable because it was actually NOT unlimited and with the competitor ( Airtel) giving truly unlimited Internet guess where customers were going ? they has to change plan .

The move by Airtel and Safaricom to lay own cable is set to hurt earnings of other carriers like Jamii Telecoms AccessKenya and Kenya Data Networks (KDN) that feed the two companies with wholesale internet. Final nail on AK ???? “The pessimist complains about the wind; the optimist expects it to change; the realist adjusts the sails.”

Final nail on AK ???? I bet the cable is for interconnection between the two... KDN,AK and JT will still ride on redundancy of that cable and inter BSC and MSC connections..... not forgetting the backbone to major cities, either as main providers or redundancy providers

I would be concerned as treasury with the financial distress in this sector. What happens if says 2 telcos were to fold? How many jobs would be lost & tax revenue? Safcom is already too big to fail... RAO should also disband CCK... $15/barrel oil... The commodities lehman moment arrives as well as Sovereign debt volcano!
