On Feb 27, I completed share transfer Forms at FIB, to move all my shares with them to AA. When I made a follow up visit on Mar 14, they said the Forms were lost and made me fill a new set of Forms. Finally on Apr 13, FIB gave me the signed Forms to take to AA for submission to CDSC, and I thought the process was over.

A week ago, AA calls me to say CDSC rejected the transfer presumably because FIB had not authorized it. After making a call to FIB, they said there was a mixup which had been resolved, and AA should resubmit the Forms. A follow up call today revealed that the transfer has still not gone through.

So to my question; What recourse do I have when a broker fails or refuses to honour a share transfer request? If anyone here has experienced this problem, how did you resolve it?

I had the same problem, had it fixed through a complain to CMA.

its not about efficiency, its all about discouraging clients from leaving, waste his time until he gives up.... if he reports this to CMA within 24 hours changes will occur.

Couldn't agree more... mimi pia nilipigishwa roundi mpaka nikarushia hiyo process mkono!!! Later I figured out this's just a business tactic -make the process frustrating (complicated) as possibly can be- besides it's easier to retain an existing customer than acquiring a new one.

SIB were very cooperative transferring mine, no problems whatsoever.

looks like hustlers are the ones frustrating others

From the comments that you post on Wazua i can imagine how you treat brokers with your money..... wali chokaa na wewe "wakaomba serikali iwasaidie" when they saw your quit form they must have pushed it very fast, just incase you change your mind Laughing out loudly Laughing out loudly Laughing out loudly

@Chaka. I've had problems with order processing at FIB since 2006, so I opened an account at AA in 2009 and found them a lot more responsive and professional.
