Just wondering whether it is possible to check online Helb loan balances without having to visit the offices!
I have been slapped with a quarter million statement which i find very hard to believe despite paying up more than 10 years ago.

Never mind, mine they topped up 160k, even after trying very hard to clear.

Since then, i decided i will only pay what is due (what they gave me), and then disappear. I don't have political or very high ranking officials anbitions, since i don't have money to waste.

And if i get alot of money, i'll just pull a Zuma (get wives, 6 is the African Man number!)

Watu Walipe madeni yao, kula deni ni kulipa. I was alo slapped with a penalty of 35K and am paying it. Many of us did not heed their ealier warning and are now complaining. It is natural with human beings, quick to borrow and slow to return.

I had 88k early last year. Then the penalties began piling up and before I knew it, it was around 160K. I decided to (re)start paying faithfully and now I am down to 140k. I know you can get a reprieve of penalty for a certain lump sum payment. I am in communication with HELB to see how I can get this to work for me.

With credit reference in place, I wouldn't advise anyone to default deliberately.
