Equity bank will release their Q1 results today at 2.30pm at Equity Centre. The surprising thing is that they are the first bank to do release this time round is there anything to read into that? I think they must have excellent results to be the first one off the blocks, really interested to know your expectations!

Cost of funds up 524% from 460M to 2.81B. That's where some of KCB's (Kenya) profits disappeared to. OTW, overall performance is good with me. How did Equity do with cost of funds?

Wow from 460Mn to almost 3Bn, that's huge. Equity's cost of funds was up 283.2% y-o-y to 1.62Bn from 424Mn.

I think saw a post on twitter from KCB group with their Q1 results where pretax rose 35% to 3.4B.

NO! They were given a very cheap loan from an international financier, and i even commented on it here.

Remember, KCB, Coop, Faulu etc are busy wooing people to deposit cash with gifts, while equity has cheap international loans.

Let me look for the LINK!
