The East African region has recently experienced increased PE funds investment specifically the SME market as most investors believe this is the growth stay of the East African region. Same notion can be extended to the West African region. These are exciting times with the discovery of oil coupled with improved business market confidence, strong middle class growth and a strong regional bloc (well soon to be, fingers crossed); the PE investments will undoubtedly grow - probably more than West Africa's due to a more stable environment huku (Boko Harram (sp) people!) My question is who are these PE firms investing in the country "under the radar"? Helios is definitely one of them; are they still shopping for telecomms towers? Informed wazuans please shed some light on these firms. On that note any increase in M&A activities since 2006? Any one know any or where to get that list?

Much appreciated.

Citadel,

There is so much activity in the PE universe my friend and it is expected to increase due to the discovery of oil among many others take at the link I just posted above. Got a list of M&A in the East African region from 2006-to date and we are sitting on a gold mine but we don't realise it.
