I used to think that it consumes too much; but now looking at the ACTUAL figures listed here, I think it is pretty good, given its age and that it's a 4WD version.
Talking about driving styles; you can force an auto trans car to shift upwards earlier by "pumping" the accelerator. I have just completed 315km of 100% continuous town driving [mostly morning and afternoon peak hours]. The faithful Mazda consumed 40.5L That comes to about 7.8km/L Good or bad? I don't know Nothing is real unless it can be named; nothing has value unless it can be sold; money is worthless unless you spend it.

Have seen in today's DN pg 7 that a hair dresser from Kayole and her navigator won the Shell Fuel economy challenge by covering a distance of 181km using 3.32 litres of fueL(54.52 km/litre !) Kwani was she driving a TUK TUK..?

And i doubt they were allowed to coast on descents with their engines off.

If you want to know how much fuel you have consumed on a journey, you should fill the tank at the beginning and then at the end. The litres consumed at the end are the ones used during the journey.... I thought every motorist knew this

@chiaroscuro, That is the case if the fuel pumps are accurate... i.e when it says on the gauge,30 litres,do you actually get 30 litres?

Yes you do get 30L... unless you are fueling at one of those "stations" that sell petrol from the bedroom window in some corner at the estate. All licensed stations get their pumps calibrated by the Dept of Weights & Measures [Min of Commerce]. Major dealers [KK/ Total/ Shell etc] also do their own in-house calibrations. If you suspect that a station is not selling 30L when the pump says 30L, then take two immediate steps: [1] Stop buying from them [2] Report them to ERC

If your car came with a manual!!! you are told that when the 'red flag' comes on, there is 7.5 0r whatever liters of fuel left in your tank! Now you know!

This may be the case if your car is on a perfectly horizontal surface.....

That assumes that you will see it coming on the very first time. Usually, it comes one for a few seconds; then goes off; then comes on again; then off.... eventually it comes on and remains on.

You are out to experiment something. So you drive your car with one eye on the dashboard and when you see the red you dash to the nearest petrol station. There is always a margin of error. In most cases women don't know the exact date when they conceived!

Hey people! I have a friend who claims his Toyota RunX achieves 14Km/Ltr (Nairobi) & 20Km/Ltr (highway). Can someone verify this? Also whats your experience on consumption of the 1500cc GG2 Subaru Impreza? Formally employed people often live their employers' dream & forget about their own.

Efficiency ~ 21.8 km/l The distance from Nairobi to Nakuru and back is 320km so km per litre should be 19.39. From the discussion on this forum,http://www.b15sentra.net/forums/archive/index.php/t-22515.html Even with the fuel gauge on E, you should still make 43 km on the 2002 Nissan B15. My guess then is that your car has a reserve of at least 20 litres in addition to the 10 litres you estimate to be left in your tank.

Seriously waiting.also compare this with fielder From my experience, having owned and driven both models, the GG2 is slightly better at 10km/L town driving and 12 Km/l on the highway. GG3 - 9Km/L Town, 11 Km/L Highway. This is slightly higher because of the full time AWD on this model.
