Safaricom discontinues uncapped data bundles
Mobile operator Safaricom has announced that the company will no longer offer its subscribers unlimited data packages in Kenya, citing misuse by some users as the primary reason for the cancellation of the service.
Safaricom to lay fibre for "data tsunami"
Kenya's top telecoms operator Safaricom will lay a fibre-optic cable network to offer faster and more efficient Internet data services in expectation of a mobile "data tsunami", its chief executive said.
Safaricom's Collymore joins UN body
Safaricom CEO has been appointed to the United Nations Global Compact Board, a voluntary UN initiative that encourages businesses globally to adopt sustainable and socially responsible policies.

Funny that Collymore cites "misuse". It's an unlimited data bundle! What did he expect? People to limit themselves to 10mb per day for 200?

Let's wait and see if Airtel also discontinues its 150 bob per day unlimited offer. They must be "losing money" as well...

What is the excitement about 3500pts on the NSE (was expected from a Technical perspective if the bounce happened - it has). The macro economics picture is still lacklustre to say the least. The money market still looks tight to support 5% GDP growth target especially with high oil prices. This is why I have been dismissing the rain effect.
$15/barrel oil... The commodities lehman moment arrives as well as Sovereign debt volcano!
