These traffic jams are becoming too costly for motorists.Just the other day they removed my friends side-mirror.Now yesterday they remove mine.Who buys these stolen items?Wonder how they resell with the car identity on the mirrors.Pangani and Museum areas are notorious.

The car identity is not an issue, they just break that mirror and install another one for less than 200/-. Similar to those that show to change lanes since the trailer is 1km behind, only to die instantly! What they are interested in is the cover with the motor etc, not the mirror. On my expired Caldina, i have choma'd the car identity on the plastic cover, so, that keeps them away, as you know, they are illiterate lazy Kenyan! In Town and Ngara Areas, they target skirt wearers. But in Mlango Kubwa, this ghasia's target ANYBODY, ANYTIME and ANYTHING! This thuggery was supposed to be for Toyota Wish or similar cars, now they have gone overboard, even Honda's are targets. WASHINDWE, PEPO CHAFU! An MD in a former Company i used to work in lives in Muthaiga. In March 2008, along the former Murang'a road, someone snatched a laptop from his Benz back seat, during a very heavy traffic jam. He tried chasing him for some 15m, upon looking behind he saw some 3 men, busy trying to pull out side lights etc. He returned to his benz, screamed and screamed and scream WEZI!, then relaxed. He vowed NEVER to use that route again, he will rather use the congested Parklands roads! Receive with simplicity everything that happens to you.” ― Rashi

It is extreeeeeeemely dangerous to do something like carry a toy gun around.

Some of those idlers are part of the cartel... Don't even go that far! Those guy are normally 5 or more at the crime scene. Drive around Ngara area and you will see how it goes down. There are like two moving around looking for a target while like three are by the roadside pretending to cross without ever crossing. One or two of the thugs yank something off your car and the don't even run. The other three are hoping and praying that you will be stupid enough to open the car and give a chase. In such a case, it will take them under one minute to steal EVERYTHING you are carrying in your car!!! Solution: Buy a toy gun - the kind kids fill with water, or one of those Kinyozi/Salon sprayers. Fill it with concentrated sulphuric acid and the next time one of these thugs yank anything from your car, immediately give them a nice shower - preferably on the face! Never count on making a good sale. Have the purchase price be so attractive that even a mediocre sale gives good returns.

Now that's what am talking about. Or better still do it M7's guard's way. Pepper spray :)) "The true measure of a man is how he treats someone who can do him absolutely no good.

It might be risky but ill not just freeze in my car as some bunch of cowards fleece the parts. To that i say a big no.At all times in my car with me is a masaai bakora or piece of metal bar n with that ive managed to scare off the idiots and even help other lady motorists.Good pple lets take initiative please please this thugs are also human who know the consequences of being cornered. I wouldnt dare carry a gun even if its a toy coz i dont want to be in the seven oclock news with a caption "hardcore thug on a police wanted list shot dead along thikaroad",neither will i try following up the thugs. The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.

Agreed. All I'm saying is exercise caution. Look around and also note what part of Nairobi you are in. If it is Makaburini/Railway over pass along Uhuru Highway or Forest Road and there are no other vehicles, stay in the car!!! If it is Ngara or CBD and it is before 9:00pm you can give a chase. But make sure you leave your car locked and no open windows! Make sure you have a serious rungu because some of those thugs carry knives. If by luck you catch up with the thug, hit him on the HEAD. You want to knock him out one time! Remember, he might be armed. Do unto him before he does unto you. This is Nairobbery!!! I also have a rungu like the one pictured below and you can bet if I step out of the car, I'm aiming straight for your head. I'm not spoiling for a fight. Just a straight knock out. Learnt that from Mike Tyson. Never count on making a good sale. Have the purchase price be so attractive that even a mediocre sale gives good returns.
