For the sake of the unborns.
This is what happens when we cease to think as humans.

OH my Goodness....I saw a newborn Kid sometime back,I think he was younger than the above thrown in garbage pit in Umoja-innercore.I was shocked how can a mother be that cruel.

She is my mum,
she bore me after 9 months,
she loved me though she didn't know it,
I don't blame her

He is my dad,
he conceived me 9 months ago,
if he knew me at 18 he'd be proud,
I don't blame him

This is my country,
I am a citizen by birth,
my destiny to transform this unknown land,
but I don't blame Kenya

And you who know,
who are you to me,
you look at me with sadness,
but would you save my life?

I am only a day old, so allow me to blame you Sad

This is really sad. Im just wondering why would she carry the baby to term and then do this? Doesnt make sense, its time we had safe surrender places where women can give away their children to be brought up by others instead of this happening to innocent babies!!

Reminds me of a baby, we picked from a pit latrine.
I carried the little thing still alive with cord on to the hospital and was admitted in the maternity wing to act as mom. She had been in a pit latrine for 8 good hours and u know apart from few burns on her cheeks and hands her lungs ,nose ears were clear. The doctors were even shocked. Good lord it brought the hospital to a standstill as people came to see the baby.
Some were asking me 'kwa nini ulitupa mtoto.Sad If only they knew the story.
That baby was the cutest little thing I had ever seen, she looked half-caste.
Loong story again.
The mum after much counselling took back the baby, raised her up till she was a year and few months and then murdered her.Drug overdose.
Another loong story.
She gave me a pic of that little baby and told me to keep it.If only I knew.
But don't joke with Karma. She later died a death I can't even put into words.Unfortunately it took the life of her other kid.
No need to go into details.
But Karma is real.

But humans have always done things like this since times gone. In fact, the photo exhibits a perfectly human judgement.

And humans are not alone; cats eat their kitten, ditto dogs . . .

-Mother cats sometimes eat their kittens if they are unhealthy or have died.

-The mother cat might eat her kittens if you mess with them too much when they are little. Cats detect a lot by smell, and if the kitten smells wrong (i.e, of you) it might assume it's unhealthy and kill it.

-Some cats are genetically abnormal, and can't produce the hormones which trigger maternal behaviour. That means they might treat their own kittens as prey. If you see a mother cat kill her entire healthy litter, you probably shouldn't breed from her again.

-Kittens born in winter, when they aren't likely to survive, are sometimes killed to save strength for the mother.

-If you put your cat under too much stress, she might decide she can't protect her kittens and give them up as a lost cause.

Dogs

-a dog will eat her pups when they die shortly after birth or just before they die because she knows there is something wrong with her pups and it helps her get a missing nutrient that she needs.

See the diff between humans and animals.?
What we think is abnormal in animals is actually right and what we view as wrong with humans is actually wrong.

Essyk that was sad, I cant even imagine. But reading through your story I was just hoping they did not give the baby back to her mother, but unfortunately they did! Someone who throws her child away in a pit latrine of all places while the child is still alive is definetely not fit to raise that child. The fact that she chose to kill that child and let the other one live, to me shows that she had issues with the father of the child and not necessarily the child. Society has a tendency to put all the blame on the woman, but guess what somewhere there is a man who fathered that child, he goes off scot free, no blame, no guilt!! I bet the women who leave their children for dead are usually under alot of financial strain. I am not trying to absolve them of their horrendous acts but sometimes its better to look at issues from their point of view. I picture her as an 18 year old, fully dependent on her parents and when she gets pregnant, the father of her child abandons her. She cant tell her parents because they are already under too much stress trying to make ends meet, so she hides her pregnancy, which must be the most harrowing experience. Imagine having to live a lie everyday in a one room shack, Im guessing she must be going through hell When she delivers she has no support, no one to talk to, throw in post partum depression and I can definetely understand how she would come to this conclusion.Women are attacked verbally everyday in society, just read through some of the posts here and you realize that women are indeed very strong! Had that woman had the financial means to care for her child, I doubt if she would have made this type of decision. As a woman I strongly believe that women should be financially empowered, my mum advised me to never be dependent on a man 100% and I find it to be true. I see so many women trapped in unhappy marriages and they cant get out because the husband is the bread winner. I honestly do not understand this way of thinking, because I would rather go and sell veggies at marikiti than live in misery. Anyways my point is let us not be quick to place all the blame on the woman, only she knows the kind of hell she was going through that made her do this. Instead lets encourage safe surrender, no questions asked!
