By my estimate we shall achieve vision 2030 by 2020 if we stop corruption, elect good leaders, avoid self pity, plan the family (no more than 3 kids) and build confidence in ourselves. In corruption we have new breeds in town fronting Europeans to give a sense morality in any transaction (I know it is risky for me to write this but it has to be said). In Goldenberg there was Kettering. In Anglo Leasing there were Greek Cypriots. Such happens in the lead up to past elections and we are seeing aggressive approaches to create other mountains.

I do not think someone else will come to our aid especially in strategic thinking. Today Giant companies are knocking our doors to do research here. It is imperative that we create the necessary ecosystem for knowledge to thrive. It is knowledge that will give rise to what we desire in vision 2030. That is why we need standards, we need Konza, we need broadband throughout the country and above all we need people to take responsibility for the vision. One cannot give birth to 15 children and blame the Government for not delivering the vision.

Konza is simply a concept for us all to see it through. We must concentrate on understanding the concept so that it is not owned by just a few. I do not know where I shall be next year but I will be gratified to know that such concept is carried forward by those who sought to understand it and bear the responsibility of seeing it through.

Ndemo.

This one of the best if not the best performing PS in the kibaki govt.If we can get more men and women of this calibre in roles of great responsibility in this country, then the sky would be the limit.

Seconded, Thirded, Fourthed. And he should remain in the same ministry. We don't need some dunder heads who don't understand what Ndemo is seeing messing this vision for us.

I also appreciate the work being done by Joseph Kinyua at the ministry of finance. He should be the Finance Secretary. Dude works even on Sundays and he's a government employee!!

And Gakuo for Nairobi Governator!

I hope we don't end up with a situation where political failures are rewarded with this posts.

I agree with you on all points bwana PS but i disagree about limiting the children we can have to 3, i think that is being a nanny state, the key is to have children that you can be able to bring up comfortably. I am sure the Konza project will be your legacy to the universe and we support you 100%.

fifthed to tenthed...there are good and performing guys out there. Problem with the electorate is they are not well informed and we end up having same ol' poor performing domo domos.
when these domo domos are tasked in making some of these appointments we end up having a messed up system. I long to see a Gakuo come back.

I think I understand where he is coming from with the kids issue. I once attended a meeting where he gave a talk and said his bro has eleven kids and all he does is to call for help.

Anyway, I support him fully. The guy is a performer. If only we had 20 of such guys in the government.

The Old man (Baks) is really proud of this Gentle man. He is among the few who are not vetted when they want to see him. Notice baba attends all conferences that Ndemo is hosting. I hope he continues to serve this great nation.

He has stood by his projects even when the cynics don't see the bigger picture! He talked of some guyz calling him a fool for even floating the Konza Idea.

Can all those who have supported this issue be more specific?

Can you name some things that would never have happened if he had not been PS? Please with data not imagination.

As for Konza, please note that it has not happened yet. Oil will come faster. I think the guys at KBC would like to know your answers to these issues.

Just because someone is media savvy doesn't mean they are good. There are some 40 other PS's out there. Tell us why the others are failures compared to this one. With data.

My rumour mill is a bit different from yours so I wouldn't mind being educated?

I can tell you that the former town clerk is better. Why? Nairobi was clean. Please use those types of arguments please and don't mention iHub please.

1. Under sea cable

2. Digital villages.

3. Konza is a reality keep your eyes open.

4. Open Data govt.

The KBC issue is more of a mgt issue rather than a ministerial issue.

Invite him to a party over the weekend and he will not be there for long coz he has to go to the office. I think he is the only reason son of Jommo survived in the Ministry of Finance.
Lord, thank you!

I think regulating would take that sense of freedom because there is no way of determining who can support how many kids.
Capping the number to 3 would be a brilliant idea. It won't take us the way of Japan, shrinking and aging population, but it would pull majority out of the poverty traps in less than 15 years.

Majority of those who have more than 3 kids, tend to burden everybody else, including the gov't.

I don't support him on the kids. there is an African Holocaust occurring due to HIV. this myth of overpopulation is a case of misplaced priorities and NGO propaganda

Very 1920's! Those days, child mortality was very high that if you wanted five kids, you got eight and hoped five will make it to their 10th birthday. Using the same kind of reasoning in 2012 is... [I can't get kind words...]

I agree with those who are saying everyone should get kids he can comfortably be able to take care of. If you can only support two, don't go beyond that. If you can support six, knock yourself out!
