And so it begins......From 680 to 720 for no apparent reason. I can bet it will be 1000 by mid-year. I am assuming they have made their profits from sale of the decoders (which I heard they buy dirt cheap from China) and they must have reached numbers they want. Oh well......

DSTV always raises their prices in April of every year.

Always.

I can't recall a time they didn't (I believe Iwould have remembered the shock).

People, once they succeed in killing a competitor, they increase prices so that they can milk the customers until the next competitor shows up. This is how it works

I think Kenya is getting a raw deal here..Uganda have GoTv plus(23 channels and my favorite NATGeo! is included)@KES760

http://uganda.gotvafrica...tv-plus-channel-lineup/

So if they are going to up the fee from 680 to 720 then Kenya should be on the GOTv plus bouquet.... Someone needs to kill this monopoly.

To run big business, you have to understand human psychology. What you are suggesting will never happen. The only thing can kill DStv is EPL. By paying higher fees for exclusive rights, they knew what they were doing!

Another company comes up, has EPL, National Geographic, Cartoon channel(s), a couple of movie channels among others and DStv kwisha.

Personally I cannot pay for DStv if I can watch EPL and La Liga courtesy of another provider!
Never count on making a good sale. Have the purchase price be so attractive that even a mediocre sale gives good returns.

It does NOT have EPL, there's a supersport select channel which am told you can catch some highlights. But as someone stated uphere..the only way to kill this monopoly is if a new player comes in and offers EPL.
Till then I guess I will catch my EPL at my local pub...
