Cant you see the difference? These are 2 distinct industries. If you look at the LAPSSET program you will notice that oil was anticipated Otherwise why have a refinery in Isiolo and Lamu?

Turkana or Konza.

Lamu ofcourse. Am researching but Turkana may end up with just an oil well as we see in the deserts. More value will be generated at at the refinery, port etc.

Konza. Still not sure how long this will take to give value.

Lamu is best of them all...excellent for refinery, port and also for a beach resort...it has a competitive advantage over the rest of the so-called major investments to come.

Turkana oil but in Isiolo or Lamu. I don't see how this oil will be a real estate boom in Turkana because drilling oil won't be labor intensive and the dollars will be spend elsewhere. The little that will go to Turkana county, will be channeled to social amenities and not grand casinos or hotels. A few hotels will be built but not much in Turkana. Lamu and Isiolo will benefit more from those petrol dollars.

How are the two related?
Which money are you asking about? Investment money or profits from the projects?

BBI will solve it

Lamu, Isiolo, Turkana: I see in the coming years the significance of the City of Nairobi diminishing. Isiolo, sitting at the bottom of the Central Kenya highlands just like Nairobi may be the place to go. The railway line ends at Nanyuki; extension to Isiolo should be in the works by now.

To bring is some perspective in neighboring Uganda, amenities have started coming up around HOIMA the town near the lake Albert Basin where drilling will take place. It is estimated that 10,000 laborers of all kinds will settle around there.

so other than real estate, opportunities are in housing, accommondation, food and entertainment etc >>> basically the basics for survival
