This will be the second time that Gor Mahia will be switched off the SuperSport screens due to hooliganism. This follows violence by their goons during their clash with AFC Leopards.

It is a blow to the players who will be denied the right of advertising themselves to the whole of the world.

So, will Gor be entitled to sharing the TV rights loot?

very minimal if any

Last time I checked SS has a contract with KPL for the 16 teams, not individual clubs, the deisbursement formaula I don't know!!!

We may need to look at the "terms and conditions" section and the "disclaimer" Section too... I doubt they'd just pull out if they aren't covered...

I don't condone hooliganism but the SS sponsorship gives each club Kes 2.1M annually, truth be said, Gor collects this much when playing a mid table team in one week!!!!

Gor and their fans think they are the face of Kenyan soccer. So they don't need anyone's cash. This attitude will one day reach the fans who flock the stadiums to watch them play!! In the meantime, Gor languishes at the mid of the table.

Last time SS did the same and then came back despite some of the fans hurling insults at them to leave the stadium...

I think Kogalo needs SS more than the other way, bragging about the amount of money a club makes is like not knowing which hand feeds the mouth. One of the major reasons why they make so much chapaa is the marketing that SS did. Let KBC sponsor & market the KPL and see how many fans would turn up

As part of his summon, a New Zealand pastor visiting Kenya recently asked the congregation whether anyone plays rugby.

No hands lifted. In shock he retorted:

"Oh, you guys like football don't you?"

"YEAH!!" All shouted.

"I can't understand why Kenyans like football yet they are not good at it at all! you should all be playing rugby. Have seen how you national sevens team is doing in the world circuit?"

it makes you think, doesn't it?

Gor needs sponsors to survive not the fans, i'm sure Tuzo are not pleased with what SS have done. The main idea is to market their brand on TV through Gor, if thats not happening then the Sponsorship becomes worthless to them. Same concept applies all over Europe. So many clubs have gone into administration yet they have almost 10 times the number of fans Gor has. Its a bit naive for their fans to claim ati they don't need TV coverage because they watch all their matches from the stadium....the gate collections cannot sustain the club!

@TAZ,
You guys are a funny lot, you come celebrating the fact that Gor Matches will not be aired anymore, we tell you what we feel about the same and then you go blah blah......the drive to get fans back to the stadiums started before the SS/TUZO sponsorships.....FACT!!!!
