Sleeping sickness travel warning, ASI!

Now that Kibaki and his government have been dragging their feet to pass the anti-terrorism bill, Uncle Sam has resorted to the old trick of uncalled for travel warning, of all things they chose Sleeping sickness.

I would like to know from those in the know, what kind of threat (real threat) does sleeping sickness pose to would be visitting Americans?

We are not alone, if that is any consolation. Many others face sanctions for not bending to the whims of mighty USA. Sanctions!

What shocks me is the below statement

“The form of sleeping sickness seen in eastern and south-eastern Africa was recently reported in two European tourists who visited the Maasai Mara National Reserve in Kenya,” says the advisory and urges visitors to the park to take precautionary measures.

Dr.Sharif (kenyan) said there has not been any case of sleeping sickness from the area for more than a decade,

doctors who treated a 62-year-old-man at a Frankfurt hospital in Germany at the end of January....
