@sober 155 would have been better than 175..

Jubilee is announcing in 2 weeks..

I expect EPS to come in at 45bob..
I expect NAV/share to come in at 139bob...
I expect FY DPS to come in at 6.5-7.5bob...
I expect a bonus issue or special dividend to commemorate 75years...

I think this info can help you tell if 175bob is affordable...

From above it's only affordable due to bonus/special dvdd.

@Jerry, the share is affordable even without the special div/bonus. If the share achieves the EPS 45, even with the current PE of 4.73, the share should trade at 210+. And if it trades at a higher PE, which it should, then it should do a far far higher price

I've just thought about the question again.

Affordable is in relation to the ability of the buyer to pay, not the value of the share.

In terms of value, which is what we have been discussing, the stock is value for the price.

In terms of affordability, that is a psychological matter, you get a fewer number of shares and feel shortchanged. Directors usually split shares to overcome this barrier, like KK recently did.

The beauty of splits is that it also unlocks the value of the share since more buyers come into the market because the share is 'cheap'. Unfortunately HH the Aga Khan is not a fan of splits.
