Instances of criminal attacks call for quick thought and not necessarily heroic reaction (picture the case of the late PS,a trained and perhaps even armed victim). Sometimes,you need to run so that you can marshall help or re-ambush the thugs especially if you are armed. Reminds me of a time 2 drunken cops accosted me and my then friend. It was pitch dark and could not see their faces. They tried to threaten us but my friend threatened them back. He took a risk to save both of us. Eventually they relented. Can't imagine what would have happened if he deserted me

It could go both ways depending on where you were attached and how daring the thugs are. If in an open place where there is likelihood of a vehicle of somebody coming past in a few seconds,perhaps you may be lucky but if you were attacked by armed robbers at a secluded place it is better if the man ran away (if sensibleto do so because no man is faster than a bullet) and run for help. What would most probably happen afterwards is the thugs will scan the girls for valuables and also run because they don't know where the man went.
