IMHO with something like Konza city should not be government driven.

yes indeed- its "tink piggest"..insert Chinese accent. i think they should concentrate on something like the southern sudan pipeline..the railway..why are they only advertising KONZA? i thought lamu, pipeline, railway et al will drive the economy better than the stupid "africa silicon valley"

to say the truth - I think they are all possible! When Michuki said they will build a 10 way super highway from Nairobi to Thika early in 2008, I thought the man was mad!

That should not have surprised anyone. It was almost to be expected.
However, if he said a just a dual carriage way from Nbi to Nkr, he would have been surely mad.

While its possible for the Africa Silicon valley. I do not think the project will kick off within the time flame given. I fear two things may derail the project 1. Corruption in government offices may ruin this great idea and 2. Lack of human resources or man power for affordable labour in or near Konza.

Prof. Nyong'o's article does not claim that we are being over-ambitious. Infact, he wishes he could be there for the next 50 yrs to witness the drastic changes in our country.
