Morning Wazuans
Eddy Njoroge and his team have one hell of a plan in place for the next two decades or so. Olkaria 1 and 4 units will commence commissioning in 2014 to add an estimated 280MW to the national grid. With planned investments amounting to a cumulative amount of USD 4.6Bn in the next 6 years with the aim of boosting supply to 17,000MW from a paltry 1,800MW (KenGen contributed 1,600MW of these) presents a vast opportunity for Kenya's dominant electricity supplier.
The plane is on the runway and this counter will start an upward trajectory if and when all these plans fall into place with majority of Kenyans not accessing electricity KenGen has a plan to ensure that prices will be low to the tune of 7-8 US cents per KwH. All Aboard?!
