@V

Kengen has so to say Joined the 'DungStocks'..

They have made a very big Decline in Profitability (Real Profit from Core Operations) and the Trend of is FURTHER SOUTH..! The Pre-IPO profit for this company was in the Range of 6billion But over the Years it has seen a Steady Decline into a Post-IPO Profit of 1.6 billion!

Ignore the Deferred Tax 'Profit' because this is not a PROFIT in Realterms..this Fake Profit is as a Result of their TAX SUSPENSION by Govt Pending Policy Formulation in the wake of Rising Power Costs and a Tentative Quasi Tax-Waiver or Reduction is underway..

The above factors are what REAL INVESTORS look at before Rushing for a Stock..i watched a SouthAfrican Investment Consultant on CNBC 2weeks ago saying that KPLc and Kengen were Counters to 'Watch' and i went like,' Oky,Counters to watch and Take-Off b4 they Scorch you'!

Power Sector is Lucrative but Not when yu Operate with HydroPlants and Obsolete Transmission Grid..!

If there were Commandments of Investing, you would have been an award winning drafter. I beg my friends to Look at the books of the companies they are trying to invest in,Understand the maths(acct) and ask questions. We sometimes invest very blindly just for the sake of being investors......And we are in for a roll coaster we could avoided. Don't take me wrong s*** happens but can be avoided.
My God,you explained your point ingeniously, kudos.

After all,we were not surprised by the strange move in East African Portland Cement's price a couple of weeks back. I totally agree with Eddie's analysis..

Of course Kengen will recover just as EAPC did. Its not a fundamentals market this NSE.

I think when a company feels it has to dress up its books(although they have done nothing illegal) there is something wrong somewhere, and it deserves a second closer look at its fundamentals.

am not too sure you understood what eddie is talking about.......if you did, you'd see that his argument explains why the share price isn't rising despite profits (caused by defered tax)

you can't compare the case of E.A. portland and kengen ; E.A. portland made a loss on revaluation on loans, this is just an adjustment in the books. their perfomance was good if you disregad this adjustment;the only reason that share price dipped that much was because some uninformed investor sold after seeing a loss figure;and that is why it also gained that fast(coz someone else understands his books). however kengen's perfomance was poor, the only reason they made a profit was due to the defered tax. this Nse my friend is a market of fundamentals.well....at least most of the time.

As an investor, other things to really analyse should be cashflow (for dividends) and gearing (room for growth) as they affect the 2 most important elements for a shareholder.

Do u remember that the institution got a meagre 6431 shares when ipo was launched & do u recall how much interest generated this ipo & since this was a blue chip stock, the biggest disappointment came to big institutions .

The market all over the world is dominated by institutional investors who spent huge amount of money doing indepth research appointing well qualified executives to move the institution with a aim & projections .

The retail segment is always a scape goat in the market who cant dictate but only to absorb what market offers,Its not a socialism but purely capitalism & you should understand this before you invest .

We are already 4 years old since ipo came out & it may take many more years . A gud example was mumias to cite an example . I simply wonder what will be safaricom likely to be for a case study .

I only advocate that 'Patience always Pays' . I dont know much on the trading patterns & its prices but iam a disciple of warren buffet - Buy & Hold .

We are individuals & we all think differently . A point of discussion can generate 100 different views .Whats Ur's !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
