I stand to be "collected" but i believe its to do with Bonus of 1:8 declared back in October 2011, this means more shares were used to calculate EPS.

The installation of prepaid meters should was supposed to increase the profitability. Or mayb cost of buying the meters reduced profitability i guess.

Kplc increased the no. Of issued shares at the end of last fy. Which was very puzzling.

However, the lower dividend was also a result of a higher number of shares that resulted from a bonus share issue given in the course of last year.

Shareholders got one new share for every eight shares held as at June 2011. This resulted in the creation of about 217 million shares bonus shares.
