Hi guys, am thinking of getting my first car via asset financing, around 500K, anyone who has done this and what are the pros and cons and the best financial institution for this service?

Thanks for your comment Olu, dont you think buying in cash will hold up cash flow for other investments, I have a regular job, am a farmer plus co run software development company. The car would help me save on that which we cant buy- time

It makes sense if it will add value to your activities by making easy to navigate your job, the business and farming. NIC bank has been in this business for years

Back in the day, only brand new cars could be purchased through asset financing, maybe things have changed.

They finance used cars but give a limit on the number of years and require AA valuation. Anyone out there who has ever purchased a car with asset financing? @ Luttz, thanks I will check out NIC bank though someone tells me that Family banks asset financing is also solid

You say you run a software development
company on the side.

I'm assuming the company has a history - registered, has a bank account and you can show cash flow. With this, a bank will finance the car as an asset for the company, buy the car in the company's name.

am buying a car through equity valued at 600k, for 36months at 14per cent so far everything is fine, however its the car dealers you have to be careful about. I gave my deposit in a yard along langata road only for the dealer to sell the car yet i had paid for vauation costs and deposit.she started giving stories about refunding my deposit. woe unto her she didn't know the golden rule of never underestimating anyone.
family bank also have great rates at 48months financing.
