As long as financial firms continue to announce better than expected results in this bidless market, I expect the market to continue tanking. This is the same script just as it was last year. The bidless market is still hoping on bullishness. Once the financial firms start reporting 'brown shoots' in this bidless market, that's the only time I can expect NSE to mount a serious rally in coming months. I still expect the market to test 3070 and breaking below 3000 is not going to be funny for the current bull callers, but will be fun for those picking at ridiculous prices lower.

Just watch oil prices - they have a very nasty way of surprising 'rosy' fundamentals. That's all...

Couldnt agree more! Brent at current levels of post $120 will just spoil the party for us!
Can't we just get our oil from Southern Sudan @CDE?

thats a question someone here answered,
1. it is 7 times more expensive to transport oil from Mombasa to Sudan than it is from Arab countries to Kenya
2. our "state of the art" refinery cannot refine Sudan's crude and in essence will also not be able to refine Uganda's either

@ guru - when equity will take full control over HFCK it will be a different story on its own.

@guru why would people go to S&L where old clients are paying 19-27% instead of 16%? All I know is HF is on a roll...need evidence look at our FY results.

We have been 6 years in waiting for this takeover and HFCK have made it clear that they will not sell to Equity at anytime...

S&L mortgage rates are not the same as KCB bank loan rates..
S&L already has 30% market share in kenya so no real need to fight HFCK... & when it hits Uganda, Rwanda, S.Sudan (all virgin markets) with mortgage products it will then be unmatched...

I was merely pointing out that KCB is a better bet than HFCK when playing the mortgage sector..

My friend.. As long as a 200,000 housing deficit remains where does the burst come from..

Not even high interest rates could halt these projects...
