About 35K per litre; popular among those who cook mandazis kwa vibanda juu you can recycle it mob times, haichafuki haraka.

there's an email going round of some dudes in coasto who apparently were turned into toast when they went to cut some elec wires at Kipevu and 13,200 volts coursed through their bodies.
They never even had the time to be afraid.

@ PuthyKrasha, a twenty litre container of transformer oil costs around Kshs. 4,500 and you can get it from the oil companies e.g. Total, OiLibya and KenolKobil and preferably at NJD or Nanyuki Road for OiLibya

And since there is so much theft of transformer oil, one is advised that they have a legal receipt on procuring it or else you can be imprisoned for a really long time.

@ impunity, the "reason" why transformer oil is used for cooking stuff like chips is that it doesn't burn (heat up) as much as the normal cooking oil.

Also, you must have heard of romours that continuous use of the normal cooking fat tends to alter its chemical composition hence being carcinogenic. Well, transformer oild doesn't do that.

@scooby thanks for the clarifications.
@cmk has a point - you make it sound a better alternative to other edible oils!
