Price is not moving up at all for this share.

That's my worry too. The price seems to be moving down instead. My only consolation is on the same day I was placing my order for the BoK IPO a lady next to me was placing an order of 1.35m for Britak. I can't help but wonder how she's fairing.

Britank was a truly pitiable choice.

Banque de Kigali fundamentals are strong and they are getting stronger everyday. The country is growing at a good rate and economic hurdles experienced by regional countries have not hit it.

I expect good takings from this stock next year. What we have seen of late is a market that is on xmas mood (check the volumes)

@mwekez@ji i dont think its market on x-mas mood.i think its the fact that competition is entering into the market with a couple of Kenyan Banks included. Remember how Equity changed the whole banking model in Kenya?.80% of the population is unbanked in Rwanda and considering Kenyans have the experience of bringing the bank to the customer, they might adopt that there

@dave.kim, you are still digesting December info????

Anyway, in dec the market was so much on xmas mood. There were many days that the share dint trade even a 100 shares in the month which we had not witnessed before. In Jan, the share is trading, though tiny volumes. On the matter of competition, BK has a headstart as the market leader. I watching the game

At least it tried than KE's britank. But those still holding are just learning that prices do sink below IPO listing price. At least rwandese are experiencing it early on unlike KE's euphoria time between 2003 - 2006 where even paka made millionaires making wanjikus think IPOs are a shortcut to riches.

Let the full year results come out. If they are impressive we may see a surge in the share price.

They'll be impressive, but the share will tank that's what is being telegraphed as well as volume spread... I hope they have an efficient PPT in RW.

Plunge Protection Team... Those shadowy forces that happen to save the market when there is a massive herd exit esp when a stock or the market goes bidless even with ridiculous prices in a sustained selloff. Another polite name for PPT is circuit breakers.

BK of Kigali announced its full year 2011 unaudited financial highlights, reporting a Net Income of Rwf 8.2 billion (approximately US $ 13.6 million), meaning an increase of 33% y-o-y. They also announced a proposed dividend policy of paying 50% of the Bank’s audited IFRS- based Net income in respect of 2011, 2012, and 2013. In the event the proposed policy is approved by the Annual General Meeting to be held in Kigali on 27th April 2012, this would result in the annual dividend of approximately Rwf 6.2 per share for 2011.

Not bad. That's like 80cts to 1/- per share.
But just thought about it, their net income is about half of what you'd call a medium bank like CBA or DTB in Kenya.

BBI will solve it
:)
