anyone heard of DOREP an NGO dealn with farming.....dairy cattle,dairy goats,hybrid kienyeji chicken,green houses....etc. Want to get their history

They abandoned farmers with those hybrid kienyeji chickens never to heard of.

They are active, very active.. call them and ask them for referrals around your area, you can visit the farmers yourself for first hand experience..

@addidas. i actually visited one of their offices but the guy i spoke to ws a bit hesitant abt givn me a referal,not quite sure why. cd b security issues. thats y i ws lookn out for one here. thanx tho

Looks like you cannot join as an individual...you have to be in a group of 20 or more

Yeah, have heard about them a lot. My conclusion is, at times they con farmers. Found several cases where they buy rabbits at 500-1000 from farmers, then go ahead to sell them at 6k each to farmers in a different region under the pretext that they are 'Dorep rabbits'. Same for poultry.....somehow farmers are always conned coz they think the breeds are imported.

Hi new farer

i have heard of them and visited them. I read that they made a loss of 20 m because they did not have effective controls to check the eggs. they buy eggs from farmers for hatching at 47 shillings and some farmer walipeleka mayai ya layers not fertelised.

they pay 47/- for every egg HATCHED. they dont pay for the eggs upfront,they pay after 3 wks once eggs have hatched
