@ Jguru.....Very few club managers decline an opportunity to manage their National team, hata hapa Kenya Zico abandoned Gor just when the club was on a good run of results to manage Harambee Stars. "The Special one" also declared that one day he would like to manage Portugal.

A manager's job is i most times a thankless job. I remember one Del Bosque who was really good being sacked by Madrid after winning the La Liga.

England has a big problem where they have elevated players into loads of power, perceived and real...a tragedy of their own making that leads to a very bad attitude and big ego on the part of the players. I pity whoever is to manage the 3 lions....

"Gutted Capello has quit," Rooney wrote on Twitter. "Good guy and top coach. Got to be English to replace him. Harry Redknapp for me."

Why, it's their country, an experiment with a foreigner just failed, they say sometimes you could not get the instructions from the coach!!!!

@All, I know 'Arry is the favourite to succeed him, but why abandon Spurs when they are being touted as possible title contenders?Like @Jguru is saying, why not see the ride through?'Arry can be the next England coach to guide them to 2014 World cup but the timing right now is all wrong - Sky Sports were suggesting Stuart Pierce can be care taker manager for the time being . Anyway, it's bad timing for Árry as far as am concerned - but who am I?

@jguru,
The dream of every english coach is to manage the national team, the level at which Arry has reached guarantees him a club role whichever day he walks out od the england job.

I think in biaseness against the english we refuse to acknowledge that england indeed has some talent, Look at all the top clubs in the EPL, each of them at least boasts of tro or three good footballers, with the right coach and preparation, england may just surprise some of you......the three lions!!!!!

True that about the bias even here in wazua. The other day(in January) people here were discussing the best Keepers in EPL at the moment. Nobody mentioned Joe Hart yet he is easily one of the best keepers in EPL this season.

...and for the best penalty takers, I would vote the rogue Balotelli as the best!!! I have seen Drogba, Rooney, Lampard etc miss penalties but never seen Balotelli...

@ Smano....I don't think the FA can dare go into Euro 2012 with a caretaker manager besides there's no guarantee they'll even make it to Brazil 2014. England under-21 manager Stuart Pearce (who was also Capello's assistant) will take charge of the senior side for their friendly against the Netherlands on February 29th but i expect the FA to name a full time coach very soon. Pearce is also the manager of Great Britain men's Olympic team so he definitely won't be available for the Euros.

"I've not even thought about it. I've got a job to do. I've got a big game on Saturday for Tottenham. Tottenham is my focus … They [the FA] will make whatever decision they want to make. Hopefully it'll be the right decision for the country but my focus is all on Tottenham." Redknapp.....Huyu jamaa hawezi kataa!

Btw has anyone thought of Guus Hiddink, he's available!
