@Guka, what do you mean that the warranties don't stand? I have had mine for the last one year and I thought I still have two more under warranty?

Not worth the paper it is written on.

For TV i would definitely go for Samsung, if you have a DSTV PVR decoder then i recommend you consider Samsung TVs with full HD....thats Series 5 and above. Sony hawawezi mambo ya screens but when it comes to Home Theatres, they are the best (sound quality).

@Sports, seconded! i still have one lying at their service centre for the past 3months awaiting 'calibration' after which the story became we are " shipping another logic board" i would vouch for LG if i were to be the last man standing.

Do the samsungs have PIP(picture in picture) option? I know Sony has.
Samsung do not have FM option, I know Sony has.
Sony have poor picture quality (BX series), but CX series has superb picture quality.
Samsung series 4-32 inch costs 32k
Sony BX- 32 inch costs 38k
Sony CX - 32 inch costs 48k

Sony as they have better accessories like the HDMI connection. If you have time shop for Panasonic or Sharp;they are the best

@ Foreman & Ericsson....Samsung has all those features you've mentioned

32" Samsung Series 5 LCD

Resolution: 1920x1080 (Full HD)
Speakers: 2 x 10watts RMS (down firing)
4 x HDMI (2 rear, 2 side)
1 x D-Sub
2 x Component In (Y/Pb/Pr)
2 x Composite In (Shared with component)
1 x Digital Audio Out (Optical)
1 x PC Audio In
1 x Ethernet (LAN)
2 x USB (side)
Picture-in-Picture (1 Tuner PIP)

Its a bit expensive than Sony but definitely worth every cent....although like i said if you don't have DSTV PVR decoder then you won't get a chance to fully enjoy some of those features.

LG are also good but they somehow try to fix everything in one model which usually screws up other functions.....but their service Centre is the best I've seen so far.

BTW i bought my Samsung through a friend who travels to Dubai and Thailand frequently, it took about a month to get here but i saved almost 10K (compared to local prices for the same TV).....never had any issue with it.

Here's a link that might help you decide
