@ Kihangeri,
"This is how American teens and those under 25 behave in average," It is the most ignorant statement I have ever heard, you forgot that American under 25 could easly be the most innovative group in the world.
You need to travel a little bit and while you're doing your travel visit science forums, travel to Silcon Valley and have coffee in one of the coffee shops or take a walk through the street of Lower Manhattan at 6 am or 8pm and see young American getting to work as early as 6am and leaving as late as 8pm then you'll know why their kids started facebook, google, microsoft, paypal, yahoo, apple and thousands of small companies that are bought out before they make it to the news and ours did what? we cannot even invent fertilizers for our farms yet we have university of Agriculture and technology.
I belong to a Kenya tribe and I remember when I was growing up, I used to think we were the most superior tribe, infact that thinking was encouraged by the elders, it is a form of brainwashing where over time people start feeling some fall sense of "we're better than everyone" and then, hold on to that feeling even if it is worthless. This is exactly whats wrong with alot of Kenyans, we've been told by our politicians we're better than everyone else and our culture is superior and we believe it and hold on to it. What do we do? we go to the airports and dance for western tourists and these same politicians half naked and we look at every other culture that is not African as spoiled and bad. While the rest of the world is working hard doing something constructive, you're scanning the internet looking for a badly behaving Western kid just to defend that falls feeling of superiority and you're ignoring western kids who started companies like Facebook, yahoo, apple, microsoft, paypal, youtube to name a few!
We're the least productive continent in the world inspite the fact that we have natural resources, why? our good behaving kid cannot translate into a better leader, scientist or teacher? At what point does our good behaving kid turn corrupt?
