jus hope someone is not eyeing to make cash out of the full mtungis..the prices might rocket up based on cost/kg of the smaller quantities. the idea is gud to accomodate low income segment, but deep down the intention maybe evil..this is Kenya, we know 'these' people dont just do stuff to help people.

The lower income bracket does not just consist of slum dwellers. It has many more people(maybe some of us too). Residential areas like Huruma, Zimmermann, Kawangware, Kangemi would provide a market for the gas.

Why would a family man earning 25k not consider buying the gas instead of the cumbersome and slow kerosene stove? The one-off cost will deter a few but if people from across the economic divide have been able to buy mobile phones, then this could easily be the answer to better energy for that sector.
Laughing out loudly smile Applause d'oh! Sad Drool Liar Shame on you Pray

This project is ideal consindering the cylinders we have do not indicate when about to maliza gas.Mostly hupigiwa simu gas imeisha and that normally happens saa ile you are in the red. That ka cylinder can okoa.Infact they should have called it"okoa gas"

These guys are going to mint money. The market in Kenya is converging towards Convenience and Flexibility. Ask Safaricom. Even "rich' guys occasionally buy a Bamba 50, not because they can't afford a higher denomination but because sometimes you just dont have the money with you. Same thinking for the Pima Gas. If you dont have the 3,800 to refill the 13kg cylinder chances are you can get some 300 bob or so to buy the Pima gas which will push you for a couple of cookings as you make plans to refill the main mtungi.

I dont like their idea it doesnt make sense, its time and energy wasting ukishinda kununua gas ya 50 bob daily...na sijalala njaa kwa sababu ya gas!
