Mumias to start Tana Sugar Belt

Once this project kick starts, Mumias will be a gold mine. Sugar cane here matures in less than ten months while in Western it takes two or more years on top of the sugarcane plantation getting set of fire by those guys from the vicinity.

Is it Oya for Mumias. Do we buy now, do we buy the rights, or we wait until after the elections. I have set aside 6million for the venture.

Yep.....but in early 2013.Money intended for the new sugar plant in Bura.....Still some way to go.

I think the problem with mumias is slow execution of their business plan, they have taken forever to just get started on the ethanol production and the bottled water project, they will take forever on this Tarda project...i think that's the problem when you have an MD who is running for political office. I wouldn't give them a penny unless they change their ways

Don't celebrate yet.I would be very glad if this happened.It's actually something i have campaigned seriously for but you realise Nzoia is a parastatal and therefore,it's sale in part or in toto is subject to the privatisation committee.Ga'ment procurement procedure demands for competetive bidding and probably the only way to circumvent this is by a cabinet resolution.I am not aware of one but again,being an erection year,anything liquid may go.....For me it's fingers closed.

The biggest undoing of ths company is operating like a parastatal...very slow in executing everything...u just cant trust it no wonder a CEO grows political ambitions n still servs.aaaarrgh.....somebody wake me up when they implement all the plans(heading to sleep)
