Websites that used to aggregate Kenyan content very well now seem like they are dying off one by one. Afrigator.com used to do a very good job of telling us the top blogs, and so did Kenyan Blogs Webring.

But now both of those are dead and buried, and it now seems that only KenyaMoja.com is the last aggregator left. Why do you think these aggregators are dying off?

What perturbs me even more is the death of Media Madness. Here was a top-class sleaze site (incogruity) drawing over 200 comments a day.

Then they began experimenting with site design...
and new editors and mundane opinion pieces...
and soon gone with 60s!

when you blog for money, you will give up before the food is laid on the table.

MM I predicted last year. I don't know much, but it seems money was injected there and corporates know nothing about blogging!

As for aggregators, if the owner of the aggregator doesn't know how to monetise it, he's doomed.

Can't have all Kenyan bloggers monetizing with Adsense. They will die of wishful thinking. lol.

In my view. It used to work when they could blog all manner of sleaze/gossip/tripe without fear of law suits for defamation. Then they came out of the closet (with Safaricom being the registrant to their domain name and all that) so to say and they have to worry about legal issues and it is no longer the same.

When quizzed about this on twitter (by @inexes, another former blogger), MM said "Its Intentional. One post per week until we all get back to normalcy (less work, school and pending legal issues"

I wonder who sued this young man. d'oh!
