Another of the 300X series trains with aerodynamic styling and a smooth, quiet body. the above are 2 different models of shinkansen[high speed bullet train] .,speeds of 300kph to 400speeds . Test runs have reached 443 km/h (275 mph) for conventional rail in 1996,. work to prosper

Maglev,or magnetic levitation,is a system of transportation that suspends, guides and propels vehicles, predominantly trains, using magnetic levitation from a very large number of magnets for lift and propulsion. This method has the potential to be faster, quieter and smoother than wheeled mass transit systems. The power needed for levitation is usually not a particularly large percentage of the overall consumption, most of the power used is needed to overcome air drag,as with any other high speed train. The highest recorded speed of a Maglev train is 581 kilometres per hour (361 mph),achieved in Japan in 2003,6 kilometres per hour (3.7 mph) faster than the conventional TGV speed record. This is slower than many aircraft, since aircraft can fly at far higher altitudes where air drag is lower, thus high speeds are more readily attained. The technology has the potential to exceed 6,400 kilometres per hour (3,977 mph) if deployed in an evacuated tunnel. maglev train it will be operational 2025 connecting Tokyo and Nagoya-264 km in 39 minutes.project starts 2011. work to prosper

Fiber optic cable is still a dream!! 2 months after landing, nothing has changed! Yous till pay thru your nose for decent connectivity (Safcon) and the rest like Uselessnet (UUNET) keep publishing articles in papers with no real change in speeds. As for bypasses, where???????? Wapi??????? Business opportunities are like buses, there's always another one coming Business opportunities are like buses, there's always another one coming

we cant achieve dreams just by positive thinking... it just helps us concentrate the energy on the issues at hand thus saving time, but clearly we still dont have by passes even after a decade of debating the urgency attached to the need,we still cant make long lasting roads,we still cant contain railway uprooters, and now that we have appraised the 2.5 million tax free guy for a job well done, how much of this projects money will end in mpigs' and others goons' pockets....
Am negative, whoever thinks that am wrong, feel provoked and make it happen..... i would love to travel in one of those comfy's to the coast at 160 km/hr
Its just me whatever choice you make in life make sure that you can live with it.

hi all, let us be practical ladies and gentlemen... i do believe anything is possible including the construction of a ksh 320b high speed train...why can't we deal with the unavailable basic necessities first???? construct 2 or perhaps3 either HEP or Geothermal power stations so that the current and future electricity demand is met, construct 4 100m cubic metre capacity dams to satisfy the unquenched thirst for at least 85% of the total population, construct tarred feeder roads in the cities and major towns estates etc...320b is a lot of money..... aren't we having our priorities upside down...we can't even feed ourselves... NEVER TALK OF A RHINO IF THERE IS NO TREE NEAREBY - ZULU PROVERB ...besides, the presence of a safe alone does not signify that there is money inside...

we have to believe! you cant grow when you're comfortable. Challenges like hunger, drought, power rationing, traffic jums, insecurity, etc brings about invention. We are growing- currently working on improvement of our roads i.e. thika rd,msa rd etc. with this trend,i do believe we shall get there.

@ stano, yes,it is good to dream, but tell me does it make any sense for a family man to drive around with BMW X8 series when his family is going naked or in tarters, can't put a square meal on the table and most importantly afford a decent shelter for them??? No way anyone will invest. The bastards in kibera uprooted the railway line again for no good reason. Railway passes thru so much land & only fools in kibera are so STUPID to uproot the railway. Iteere should have them SHOT in public. Wacha na akina ransley. Greedy when others are fearful,Very fearful when others are greedy - to paraphrase WB Greedy when others are fearful. Kaiganjo, I think your concerns are off the mark as concerns this thread, you are mixing issues here man.......frustrations with the system I guesse!!! The chief value of money lies in the fact that one lives in a world in which it is overestimated. ..."Wewe ni mtu mdogo sana....na mwenye amekuandika pia ni mtu mdogo sana!".
