Today several people have died after violence on a scale that was last witnessed in the late 90s erupted In Isiolo town upto now nobody knows the situation of the town as it seems everything is down from communication, electricity to water.

Mind you Isiolo town is 4hr drive from Nairobi which leaves me to wonder if this thing had happened in any major town like kisumu,Nyeri ,thika or even here every station will be running a live analysis with political analyst line up to analyse the situation.

This week a gang was repulsed after trying to attack a village on a revenge mission one fighter was killed on the process.

Today a police reservist(who are partisan) had an altercation with APs that resulted in the death of One reservist and injury of one AP.

The community from where the reservist come from decided to demonstrate to the DCs office where they were tear gased due to the violent Demo,so
They opted to hunt and kill pple from their rival community..according to reliable information one woman was stoned to death for belonging to the rival community....As I am writing this 3 pple have been confirmed dead.

Now the funny thing is that when the government finally intervenes it will treat this as a community feud instead of isolating the criminals who carry out this crimes and persecute them according to the law ,just like they did with Mungiki,taliban,sldf the mombasa republican council and other illegal community gangs.

The crass manner in how the govt and the general public responds to matters that affect their fellow citizens shows how Kenya apathy disfranchise a community living them feel as if they are not part of Kenya.

Security in this country went to the dogz after 2007.. This days people take law into their own hands without any disregard.. The cops are just sitting back and watching, letting guys finish themselves off first before intervening.

My biggest fear is that people are not afraid of the rule of law this days. Heck if over 1000 people died during PEV and not even 1 has been convicted who is to say if 100 are killed there will be anything different.

We are in for a rough year...GOD help us..

So true @selah. The value of life decreases as one moves deep into some regions. Dozens have to die so that the rest of the country can note. sad

@selah,
You are onto something. Contrast this with the reaction to the accident involving Msongari girls. What about the outcry right now from all quarters about the plight of the "poor" bright students from private schools who have been "denied" acceptance into public secondary schools? When WENYENCHI are affected it is a tragedy, the country is going to the dogs, something needs to be done yesterday. When MWANANCHI is involved, it is no big deal and life can go on as normal. This situation is characteristic of what ails us, what Sunny Bindra talks about as the ME, ME mentality. We have no regard for the rule of law, decency, justice, humanity or even pity if it does not touch us directly. In other words we lack a sense of society. Sad but true.

Ewe Mwenyezi Mungu tusaidie.
