Hey guys,

I plan to take ma uncle's kids a boy (10) and a girl (8) out for a treat within Nairobi one of these weekends. Can you guyz offer suggestions of places and the kind of fun they could get at the same. Dont forget to approximate the hole it would leave on my pocket.

.....njung'e,before you go for hibernation,I wouldn'ty mind your contribution!!!

Splash or village market or Impala club. If they swim or love water, they will have fun. Avoid pubs that have facilities for kids. They remain as such. Pubs.

At splash entry charges are about 350 per person then factor in camel rides etc,Village market about 50 and Impala is about 200 for non members and factor in bouncing castle charges.
Lord, thank you!

I agree - avoid placed that are oriented on adult entertainment - so avoid Rim Club on langata road (I am waiting for the day that rickety merry go round hurls a kid 100 mts). I second splash (camel 50,horse 50,DECENT merry go round 50 - and unlimited swimming and slides - chips 100,beer 150,entry 350 weekends). ALSO try Jolly Rogers - its past Mamba Village (as you look across from Mamba you will see a kindergarten - its just there - slides, bouncing castles, etc - oriented on kids entertainment. then again, for an 8 and 10 year old it might be unsuitable - mostly toddlers to 6-7 year olds.

Also,Nairobi Safari Walk (not the orphanage!!!) - low cost and after there is a decent restaurant nearby...(and later,on your way out,you get to check out how people have put cages around graves at the cemetery across the road smile)

For a 10 and 8yr old, depending on how 'mature' they're..most kids places might be a boredom haven especially if they have to share facilities/games with kids who're below 6yrs. So,other than the games oriented places mentioned by @Djinn et al...maybe you could try out 'wanyama' places. e.g

Safari walk - 100(adult) and 50(child)

Orphanage - 100(adult) and 50(child)

Giraffe centre - 100(adult) and 20(child)

Sheldrick elephant orphanage(no standard fee,you just leave your donation while exiting) but viewing and interacting time with the young ellies is strictly 11am-12noon daily. A very good experience for kids!(am sure you've watched the ellies on 'Elephant Diaries' KTN,every Thursday at 7:35pm)

In terms of games oriented...I would vouch for Splash, anytime!

BTW,you can combine splash with any of the above since they're along the same road i.e Langata Road...

Advice is what we ask for when we already know the answer but wish we didn't..
