Sad Sad Seems we might escape the noose this year as eveready delays bringing in the rope to the demise room! It has a day to go in 2011 on 30th Dec 2011 and still looking which door will crack first!
Ok, hope our sins will be forgiven in 2012 with a 20 cents bonus!Pray Pray Pray Pray

Is NevaReady still worth a thread on Wazua?

@realtreaty what are you still doing in a sinking (al shabaab) boat? KDF is firing the final rounds.

Eveready...hmmm...some principles are hard to dispute..one of them that penny stocks have the highest return on capital...but bear the greatest risks...and in most cases it isnt worth it...I avoid them at all costs.

Eveready has just announced a 124M loss for the year ended September 30th 2011. Blames high inflation and 54M made to cater for waste management and slow moving machinery spares, among other reasons.

the fate of this company is so predictable.

if you have shares, SELL and RUN. Management should liquidate this thing while its still solvent, otherwise creditors and shareholder will get nothing.

Im sure the total value of its individual assets are worth much more if sold seperately rather than if sold as a company..

If they continue like this below 1bob will definitely print in 2012..

Surely eveready should consider converting to a condom manufacturing company.

What i wonder is. Energizer and duracell are doing well-i suppose as they are still in business. They sell their competing products in the same market at everneedy. And they are even more expensive. What i wonder is what ails everneedy?

Overheads; overheads; overheads. The problem is the factory with all its attendant overheads.

By the way Energizer is and Eveready product, though not manufactured in Kenya.

Eveready branded batteries are Zinc-Chloride based. Energizer and Duracell are alkaline. The latter lasts about six times the former and costs about three times the former.

In short, the alkalines are half the price of the Zn-Cls.

But, if they play it right, they can still get market for their ZnCl batts. The answer lies in LED torches.

I bought an Energizer LED camping lamp over 6 months ago and fitted kawaida Eveready batts. I went camping once and I have been using it during KPLC blackouts ever since. Still haven't changed the batts.

The only problem is that LED torches are expensive.... but I think there is a trick around this.

All told; I'm not touching this one....

Imagine you were an employee; would you support the impending lay-off?
