Also you can cook with charcoal in a flat, but not in an apartment;
Flats never get painted on the outside even over a 30 year period, and have no bulbs in the staircase

The NSSF houses in Embakasi are referred to as flats if they were somewhere in Kile, lavi or paki they would be apartments..... something to do with location?

I recently went to Ruaka and Kinoo and noticed that the newly constructed flats/apartments look just like the ones in kileleshwa and lavington ie the build quality, design and finishing, landscaping. So the Gachie guy is right.
