what are the a tax payable to kra of toyota NZE 121,124(1300cc and 1500 cc) and allion 1500 cc and 1800cc nissan AD van 1300cc. All of 2005 and yet to be shipped

Any vehicle that was first registered in 2005 or after 2005 e.g 2006, 2007 etc will be allowed in kenya this year i.e 2012. Only vehicles that are less than 8yrs old (7years and 11moths) since the first month of registration in japan are allowed into the country. The japanese vehicle imports are depreciated from between 70% to 5% with 70% depreciation for cars that are exactly 7yrs old or above 7yrs old since the first month of registation. There is a list called crsp list on the kra website which gives the value of most brand new cars if bought from kenyan dealers e.g toyota kenya. If you import a vehicle that was first registered in may 2005 and it lands in mombasa in march & someone else imports a similar model with same specifications but first registered in march or feb or jan 2005, the vehicle that was registered in may will depreciate by 60% percent because its less than 7yrs old hence you pay more duty. @bartum, if nissan ad van arrive in feb or after feb, you will pay the 186,308 which is the lowest amount you can pay
