It took them 2yrs to diagonise adenoids which were disturbing my daughter for a while. All that time she was put on heavy antibiotics & cough syrups that never worked. Interesting part is, the day they 'discovered' the adenoids they scheduled an emergency surgery for her claiming the condition is critical. I ran away from them never to be seen there again. An ENT by the name Dr. Din in AGUH saved the day. Very efficient & did a lot of post surgery follow ups for 15 months to find how the girl was doing. Ogopa GGCH kama kirori ya mafuta

Im all smiles on her services. To get her you need to be patient because she is not in hurry to make more shillings on the next customer. @user, i took my 5month old baby to dr. Karanja's clinic at knh for a routine check-up confident that she came highly recommended on this forum. She examined her and to my dismay proceeded to inform me that my baby had symptoms of rickets! She then wrote her a prescription for calcium and vitamin d. I bought the supplements and began administering them to the baby much to her dismay, imagine 5mls twice a day and she absolutely hated the taste and would really resist. So i felt it was too much and decided to seek a 2nd opinion from professor were at uhmc. To my utter shock, he examines her and completely dismisses dr. Miriam's diagnosis and tells me to stop giving her the vitamins as it is unnecessary. He then adds how surprised he was at what she said especially since she was his student. You can imagine how upset i was that my daughter was misdiagnosed and forced to take unnecessary vitamins. For 1 week I had carried the burden that i was not vigilant enough in her care and made her get rickets. Bottom line is, always get a second opinion and don't put too much faith on one doctor.

Anyway, as parents we really need to be vigilant

Getrude's is one hospital to avoid. I also got a bad experience with them when my baby had a problem with his A-cord drying en the Dr said we have to go for an operation! They even told me to prepare 99k en do it quick before things got worse! I started rushing up with the insurance cover so that they could cover him since the cash was a lot, but before then I decided to seek an opinion from Dr Kaburu of children's clinic in NRB west en in just 1 weeks my son was ok! Yet he was to be operated on according to the Dr at Gertrude! If u can just avoid it! pole the baby will be ok, in God we trust!

Just out of curiosity, @user, what were you advised to do to normalize your baby's weight?

This is a very interesting thread, I dont have a kid and I am no doctor, but could nt help note the vitamin A supplements debate. In the UK all kids under 5 are supplemented with vitamins A, C and D. Most of the foods are supplemented with vitamins but they still give their kids these vitamin supplements. So the arrogant doctor owes BS and all Wazuans an apology. http://www.nhs.uk/Planne...ive/Pages/Vitamins.aspx
@Tony stark Pubmed is an index for many peer reviewed journals, do you mind sharing the journal that published you? I only ask because you seem to regard your accomplishments very highly. ION @Mukiha I always like your take on issues, do you by any chance run a blog? I enjoy the blog by Obbo (nakedchiefs.com) and suppose that if you had a similar one I would be your number 1 fan

Colds are viral. it therefore follows that antibiotics are ineffective.
#6 In which countries is Augmentin banned? The list of excipients in the drug are: magnesium stearate, sodium starch glycollate, colloidal silica, microcrystalline cellulose, titanium dioxide (E171), hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, polyethylene glycol and silicone oil. Where do you get your information?

You can put the 30K in a fixed savings account for his future school fee, or buy some cheap shares currently on offer at NSE. 2-dime advice! A friend has his one year old child circumcised in a public hospital a while back. The doctor doing the operation was also the one looking at the machines which check the vitals (I am no doctor). My friend tells me the machines began beeping and the Doctor jumped like someone had placed hot coals in his pants. They managed to get the machines to calm down but it was one major scare for my friend. The Doctor later explained he had informed the hosi to set up the theatre and get an anesthetist but they did not. He still chose to go ahead with this 'minor surgery' nonetheless. I still recall the case of 'whispers' who died after a very minor surgery at Thika district hospital. If you can afford it, please get it done in a mission hospital. It will not cost you an arm and a leg and they at least observe the basics. Great men are not always wise, neither do the aged understand judgement...
