HOARDING! Sad

Hoarding because prices have been reduced should be criminal.
Set out to correct the world's wrongs and you will most certainly wind up adding to them.

Finally topped up at 109/liter at KK Yaya Center; thanks to a very nice customer care lady from K-Card who checked for me which stations still had fuel. Applause Applause Applause
The station had run out of diesel and looks like petrol may follow the same route by afternoon.Eh?

Why would they hoard? They will have to sell whatever they have at the new prices, so that is already a sunk cost. A more plausible reason is they didn't order this week so they don't get saddled with expensive stock. ERC helped by 'predicting' a lowering of the price. I bet you the dry stations are ordering last weeks quota now, so you will have ngata in the evening - the losers are the OMCs.

I also don't get it when the term 'hoarding' is used.

People hoard products when prices are poised to go up, but when prices are guaranteed to stay at a lower level for at least a month, that's not hoarding.

I also don't understand the argument that dealers are creating artificial shortage, since they'll have to sell at a fixed price for the next one month.

I guess fuel dealers just didn't order alot of fuel towards the end of last week at high prices and be forced to sell this week at lower prices.

Sack employees and close shops or what?

I guess, most were busy resetting their pump meters hence no service…. So, after price reduction, you pay less and get less per litre worth
