Court announced their verdict today for the elections to be held in March 2013, what does that imply to the NSE? Is it positive news or investors will take it negatively since the constitution is not followed to the letter? Not really a political guy and don't like the idea that politics is a huge factor for an economy. Please let me know your thoughts especially hisah

NSE will be head-less and will continue to do a yoo-yoo and most likely go to 2000 points or there about. This judiciary is letting us down. We are still a banana republic if the Supreme court which includes the famous Nancy Barasa says no comment and the Constitutional court is indecisive. Only God will deliver us from these hyenas.

It also means Kibaki will be president of Kenya until June or July 2013. Nobody and i mean nobody (you can take this to the bank) can win outright majority (51%) in the first round. As Mutahi Ngunyi put it we will still have tribal blocks which will be even more bound by the ICC outcome.

I beg to differ with that comment. It's been followed to the letter! The constitutional court is recognised by the constitution and is allowed to give interpretation where there are conflicting issue in the constitution.

BBI will solve it

The new constitution re-set the clock for Kenya politics. This ruling is not good news. The sooner we switch to re-set the better. In NSE and other property markets, we will now have a longer 'wait and see' period which is not good for investment. Some players in GoK circles will be tempted to fiddle with the economy and cover up for they have more time.

My apologies. Could you explain the possible scenarios for me. What happens if M E Kibaki feels tired of all the bickering and resigns then elections will be held in the next 90 days even if Hassan isn't ready?

I think the outcome of the ICC verdict next week will expose the tribalism in this country of ours. I pray for peace so that we can continue investing and accumulating
