Get them valued first.you can check online on value of those kinds of coins,ama take them to archive or museum. Remember not to take everything at face value. Take your time to decide. The more rare they are,the more valuable.

@ktnemployee;

You must be a real KTN employee....if you think a 1940 coin and an1890 coin are MONEY.

These coins can't buy anything today...but they can be bought!!

I dont know the name of the shop,but that street that has city market,as you approach from the I&M building direction toward city Market,stay on the right side,there is a shop you will see selling curios and have displayed some of those coins on their display,they buy ( those East African coins with a whole in the middle) i think they also buy the bronze ten cents/five cents coins. Just check other curio shops in that area also.

@mukiha - ktnemployee leaves no doubt as to the standards at standard media - the bar is so low there.

@hello - I'd suggest give them a good cleaning (brasso/silvo),take some pics and post them on e-bay - there are a number of coin collectors out there and you;d be surprised - esp with the 1890 one. You did not say which country/region they belong to. For East Africa we used to have the coins with a hole until around the 20s-30s... you can find some fakes of these in curio shops used to make curios look 'dated'.
