Why is Britak trading at the current rates? I didn't expect it to perform this way. Was it overvalued at the IPO? Was it another dump? How long is 'the big boys' lock in?

The existing shareholders ('big boys') were allowed to dispose a maximum of 'only' 27% within the 2 years after the IPO. This translates to 404,070,000 shares.

Britak owns hfck and equity chunks of shares about 26% and both have lost value over 50%...profit dip a must..run away until you see the price at 2bob.

The best IPOs at NSE are britank & mpesa. These 2 have taught Wanjikus a vital lesson not taught in any class. This experience will make it hard for IPO con jobs to be floated with impunity going forward smile

Nothing wrong with ipo's NOT all ipo's are bad ...some have been very successful for the wanjiku investor but the problem comes when they do ipo's in a market beaten up like ours.it then becomes hard to sell your company .
am sure if britak was done in mid 2010 we could have riped allot. You have to look at britak's fall in light of the market
bytheway there was a time safaricom rallied from 2 bob to 8 bob !

Somehow, the stock will be back up. Intuition tells me so. And yes, I bought into the IPO.

Clearly you can't or have no clue how to read a prospectus.. Which is sad because you actually do buy IPO's... All I can say is Good luck waiting for it to ever go back to 9bob¡¡

Britak stock, will take a very long time to see 9 bob. Investors have to be patient, it will take years

By 2013 this thing should be at Sh13-15, At Sh5 everything is now priced into that share price, smart investors should be now be looking at entry points.

smile Kenyans are just that perculiar as a MJ said. They do things at the same time! What I want to say is a prospectus is as a dream which may or not come to fruition. Who said under the IPO you cannot make money. OK Britak was @9 but came to @5. If you buy @5 now and sell only what you buy now at below IPO say @7 you could stll make a cool 2 bob per share. If we are lucky investors and good citizens and Kenya becomes rich and have agrowth rate of above 7% Britak would rise to 14 Kes and then 17, 20, 23, upwards. It is not only Britak on its knees, all except City trust and williamson tea!smile

BRITAK did not raise enough cash in the IPO to follow through on its diversification strategies in full.. Couple this with the damage the NSE will do to their 2011 results. I think 9 bob is wishful thinking¡¡¡

Can any investor out there give me one positive fundamental on Britak¿¿

Didn't buy into the IPO.Was considering an entry at 4 bob and below...Wishful thinking? Does 2012(read elections result) have an impact on this stock?

britak is the stock that we expect to produce more millionaire in a short while that any other listed in N.S.E
You've got to be careful if you don't know where you are going, cause you might not get there!

There is alot of Britank hopium trying to be HAWKED here. If you are a smart investor value it with the P/E of Jubilee its peer that is the leader of this segment. Just wait for the FY results for Britak and calculate the P/E, im sure even at 5 bob its over priced.
