A presumption of marketing is that when a biz is there with U through the hard times it extends into the good times e.g KCB S.Sudan too. Let's see

Motorists are now starting to go to the other petrol stations. That offer they had is good when u have pump prices rising every month. If oil prices continue falling in 2012 the profits would be lower than the 2011.
Like CDE says, many new k-card owners were acquired during the deal poa promotion we may not have figures, but its a certainty. other oil retailers have loyalty cards that most people have never even heard of or what they are about. If nothing was achieved, for sure the K-card was thoroughly advertised and got many new card holders. At almost every KK i fuel at there is normally a major que for the POS, as most are fuelling with the K-card. also the image of the company was enhanced, as having cheaper fuel. And about losses arising from cheaper fuel is all about inventory management. Thus, when KK get's it right we will still make even more money selling increased volumes since fuel is now 'cheaper'

@Ericsson, you seem to have your facts wrong. I get ksh 4/- off on Sundays and Tuesdays. ALL other days I get ksh 2/- off. Mortals (those who don't have the k-card) get ksh 2/- off only on the two days.
I travelled over xmas with a heavily loaded card, but due to shortages I came back with the card unused, getting fuel from jerricans at hovels along the way. This price control thing is bad.

@ericsson. If KK is almost doubling their profits in 2011, that was a harsh business environment when fuel prices hit all time highs and had to deal with severe forex fluctuations in all the countries they deal in, how can you bet against them now that fuel prices and forex are stabilising? "...Previously, one of the oil marketers was forecasting price movements, notably when it was bringing the monthly cargo in an apparent bid to talk up the prices..." I wonder who that could be...? Getting some at 9 was surely a blessing. Though volumes at current prices still very low. I've also noted the increased demand in other counters. It all started with Safaricom. Will it last? Will it last? i also wonder, i'm a bit pessimistic. And its also confusing with ocampo 6 round the corner. But surely if results and dividends are good no matter the bear, their must be a ka-mini rally. I'm also thinking, maybe aly sachu's prediction is correct.
