Kenya Shilling strengthening

Rank: Member Joined: 4/3/2008 Posts: 48		Can someone kindly explain why the Kenya Shilling is suddenly so strong. On Tue 13 Dec 2011, someone I know sold dollars at KES 90. Today, I see that internationally it is being quoted at KES 83.60 (mid-market rate at 08:00 GMT on Sun 18 Dec 2011 at http://www.xe.com/ucc/co...amp;From=USD&To=KES). The appreciation is over 7% (using http://www.oanda.com/currency/historical-rates/) in just five trading days! Can one of you financial guru's please explain whassup and kindly highlight what opportunities might exist for us pedestrian folk.
