These things make a damn big difference. You may not know the countless number of accidens which involve cars or worses slamming into stalled trailers especially along Mombasa-Nairobi and Nairobi Kisumu highways. I once had to fly off the road at Awasi to avoid slamming into a stalled cane truck. Other simply put stones ot twigs to warn oncoming motorists but these are not visible at night. Worse, aftee they fix their jallopis, many of these careless motorists leave the stones or twigs for some unfortunate motorists to crash into.
They should go further and insist on reflective chevrons for buses, matatus (including Nissan/ Toyota omnibuses) and lorries as well as a mandatory reflective jacket for all motorists, motor cyclists and bipedals to help "Save Lives" especially when changing tyres at night .
While at this, if you have some money stock up on these warning signs (I do not know why we call them lifesavers) and sell at some decent profit. The price has jumped from Kshs 650 to 1300 in less than a fortnight.
Nonetheless for those who do not have a pair, pelican signs along Uhuru highways is one of the few places you can get at a thousand bob a piece - or wait to pay your "tax" on the road if you are lucky enough not to stall or puncture a tyre. Just imagine the tax points if you were doing long distance.
